Sports Mole selects its 11 top performers in Spain following another week of La Liga action.

Barcelona and Real Madrid both hit five without reply on the same weekend that Atletico Madrid kept pace at the top of the La Liga table.

Real Betis also picked up the three points against Valencia. Meanwhile, Espanyol, Malaga, Celta Vigo and Deportivo La Coruna secured a point each on a pulsating Saturday.

Sunday also threw up a feast of goals with Real Zaragoza and Levante recording victories, and Athletic Bilbao's poor start to the season continued with a 2-1 home defeat to Getafe.

Here, Sports Mole picks out the 11 performers that made their mark in La Liga this weekend.

Thibaut Courtois (Atletico Madrid)
The on-loan Chelsea keeper continues to impress this season and he put in a fine display in his side's 3-1 win over Osasuna.

Mario (Real Betis)
The 30-year-old provided a masterclass of defending in his side's victory over Valencia. The ball was a magnet to his head throughout the 90 minutes.
Jesus Gamez (Malaga)
In a game of few chances, the 27-year-old Spaniard put in a fine defensive display in his side's 0-0 draw with Espanyol.
Juanfran (Levante)
Another player who is supposedly on the decline, but he was magnificent in the heart of his side's defence in their impressive victory over Granada.

Mesut Ozil (Real Madrid)
The German was wonderful in Madrid's 5-0 win over Real Mallorca. He has had his critics in recent weeks but answered with an all-action display on Sunday.
Juan Carlos Valeron (Deportivo La Coruna)
The 37-year-old turned back the years with a stunning display against Celta Vigo. His assist for his Deportivo's equaliser was a particular highlight.
Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona)
The former Arsenal midfielder is enjoying his best spell in a Barcelona shirt and he registered a goal and an assist in their 5-0 win over Deportivo.
Xavi (Barcelona)
It has been suggested that the midfield maestro is on the decline, but a wonderful goal and a fabulous overall performance against Rayo Vallecano silenced his critics.

Helder Postiga (Real Zaragoza)
The Portuguese international turned back the clock with a fine finish against Sevilla and also impressed with his intelligent hold-up play.
Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
Messi making this team is becoming a weekly occurrence but how can he be left out? Another two goals against Rayo Vallecano took his tally to 17 for the season.
Obafemi Martins (Levante)
The former Newcastle United striker has certainly done the rounds in recent seasons, but he has found a home at Levante. Two goals against Granada capped an all-action performance.
