Report: Angel di Maria out of Borussia Dortmund clash

Illness has reportedly ruled Angel di Maria out of Real Madrid's Champions League quarter-final first leg with Borussia Dortmund this evening.

Real Madrid midfielder Angel di Maria has reportedly been ruled out of tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Borussia Dortmund through illness.

The Argentine international was due to line up in a central midfield position alongside Luka Modric and Xabi Alonso in a trio that has been favoured by coach Carlo Ancelotti this season.

However, according to AS, Di Maria is suffering with gastroenteritis and will therefore play no part in the Spanish capital this evening.

Either Isco or Asier Illarramendi is expected to replace Di Maria in the starting team.
