Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Nantes

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Nantes.

Nimes vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Relegation-threatened Nimes host European hopefuls Montpellier HSC on Sunday, with the visitors hoping to extend their unbeaten Ligue 1 run to seven matches.

The Crocodiles, meanwhile, are hoping to bounce back from last weekend's defeat at Nice and are looking to remain unbeaten in four consecutive home games.

We say: Nimes 1-1 Montpellier HSC

Even though Montpellier are unbeaten in their last eight games in all competitions, Der Zakarian's side have recently produced three unconvincing performances, with two draws against Reims and Lorient – both below them in the table – as well as a fortunate escape from embarrassment against a fifth-division side in the French Cup.

Nimes are fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table and after beating La Paillade earlier this campaign, they will fancy their chances of claiming at least a point on home soil this Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lorient vs. Nice (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lorient will be desperate to bounce back from a disheartening Coupe de France exit when they welcome Nice to the Stade du Moustoir for Sunday's Ligue 1 showdown.

Nice also bowed out of France's premier cup competition last weekend as they were put to the sword by title chasers Monaco in a 2-0 defeat.

We say: Lorient 1-2 Nice

Todibo and William Saliba have formed an effective partnership since their January loan arrivals, so the loss of the former is a big blow for the visitors. Lorient know how to produce the goods on home soil, but with Nice possessing an inspired Gouiri and a motivated Dolberg desperate to prove his worth late on in the campaign, we can envisage Les Aiglons marching to a third 2-1 win on the bounce this weekend.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Lens vs. Metz (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lens take on Metz in Ligue 1 on Sunday, with the two sides separated by three points in the top half of the table.

Metz can overtake their forthcoming opponents into fifth place with a victory, but it will not be easy against a side on a seven-match unbeaten run.

We say: Lens 2-1 Metz

Metz appear to be missing more first-team players, so we can see Lens extending their unbeaten run on Sunday.

A win would put Haise's side in a very strong position in terms of finishing as the 'best of the rest' behind the runaway top four sides in the division, so expect them to attack from the outset.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Dijon vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two out-of-form Ligue 1 sides face one another on Sunday as basement club Dijon host Bordeaux, with both teams heading into this fixture having accumulated just one point from their last 12 league games combined.

The Owls are enduring the longest ongoing losing run of any French top-flight side in 2020-21, having lost their last eight in succession, while Bordeaux are not faring much better as they have failed to win any of their last seven, conceding 12 goals in the process.

We say: Dijon 1-2 Bordeaux

Both sides will fancy their chances of ending their miserable runs of form this weekend as they bid to kickstart a revival heading into the final 10 games of the season.

Bordeaux are the only Ligue 1 team to have lost each time they have conceded the opening goal of a league match this season (11), but if they can replicate their performance when they last faced the Owls five months ago then Gasset's men should have enough quality to secure all three points on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.

Rennes vs. Strasbourg (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Rennes will be more desperate than ever to end their torrid losing run when they play host to Strasbourg at the Roazhon Park in Ligue 1 this Sunday.

The hosts fell to their sixth defeat on the bounce against Marseille last time out, whereas Strasbourg managed to derail Monaco's title bid with a 1-0 triumph over Les Monegasques.

We say: Rennes 0-1 Strasbourg

On paper, a well-rested and in-form Strasbourg coming up against a fatigued and out-of-form Rennes is a recipe for disaster for the hosts, who will be hoping that a new manager bounce kicks in before the visit of Laurey's men. It is extremely difficult to back Les Rouge et Noir in their current form, while Strasbourg have taken points off of Lille and Monaco in their last two outings, so there is no reason to suggest that Les Coureurs cannot defy the odds once again and prevail on the Roazhon Park turf.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Monaco vs. Lille (Sunday, 4.05pm)

AS Monaco's Guillermo Maripan celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on January 23, 2021© Reuters

The pick of the fixtures in gameweek 29 of the Ligue 1 season takes place at the Stade Louis II on Sunday afternoon as fourth-placed Monaco play host to league leaders Lille.

Seven points currently separate the two title rivals in the table, and the result of this encounter could end up proving pivotal in the race for top-flight glory.

We say: Monaco 1-0 Lille

Kovac's new system at Monaco has limited his side's attacking prowess, but their defensive resilience has undoubtedly improved, notwithstanding their shock loss to Strasbourg. Furthermore, while Lille's top-flight record this season is nothing short of sensational, they are not renowned for blowing teams away with goal-laden performances.

This mouthwatering top-of-the-table bout could go either way depending on which set of attackers find their shooting boots, but Lille could struggle to get a foothold in the game without the presence of Galtier on the touchlines, so we are backing Monaco to blow the title race wide open once again with a narrow triumph.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

PSG vs. Nantes (Sunday, 8.00pm)

After the jubilation of knocking Barcelona out of the Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain return to the domestic scene on Sunday when they welcome Nantes to the Parc des Princes.

Seventeen places and 36 points separate the two sides in the table at present, with PSG occupying second spot while their relegation-threatened opponents languish in 19th.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 Nantes

A number of changes can be expected on the hosts' end as they juggle Champions League, Ligue 1 and Coupe de France commitments, but PSG should have no problem dispatching a Nantes outfit who are still finding their feet under Kombouare. In addition, Pochettino's men could very well reclaim top spot if the result of Lille's battle with Monaco goes their way, so we cannot see any shocks happening here and are backing the champions to get the job done in convincing fashion.

Our tipster partners are predicting that at least one team will not score (BTTS - no).
