Peterhead, Stranraer finishes level

Peterhead are held to a 1-1 draw by relegation battlers Stranraer in Tuesday's Scottish League One clash.

Peterhead have been held to a 1-1 draw by strugglers Stranraer in tonight's Scottish League One clash.

Stranraer held the lead after 12 minutes when Jass Sukar fouled Luciano Nequecaur in the penalty area and Craig Malcolm finished from the spot.

The Aberdeenshire club pushed for an equaliser but Andy Rodgers and Rory McAllister failed to beat David McGurn.

McAllister did make the breakthrough just before half time, though, scoring into the bottom-left corner from a free kick.

The Peterhead talisman had chances to give his side the lead in the second half but failed to hit the target.

Nathan Blockley then hit the crossbar with 10 minutes remaining as Stranraer held out for a draw.

The result sees Peterhead rise to sixth in the Scottish League One table while Stranraer remain in ninth.
