Nemanja Gudelj fires AZ Alkmaar to NAC Breda victory

Az Alkmaar beat lowly NAC Breda 1-0 to move into a Europa League spot in the Eredivisie table.

NAC Breda remain inside the Eredivisie's bottom three following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of AZ Alkmaar this evening.

Nemanja Gudelj scored the only goal of the game shortly before the hour at the Rat Verlegh Stadion to see the visitors claim all three points.

The 22-year-old came close to opening the scoring in the first half, but Jelle ten Rouwelaar produced a decent save to deny the midfielder.

Breda continued to be on the back foot, however, and Gudelj did take his next chance having been picked out by a ball over the top.

Alkmaar, who had not won in their previous four games coming into this one, managed to see out the game to claim all three points which lifts them into a Europa League berth.
