Saturday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Rennes

Sports Mole provides score predictions for both of Saturday's Ligue 1 fixtures - Montpellier vs. Lens and Marseille vs. Rennes.

Montpellier vs. Lens (Saturday, 4.00pm)

Two teams with previous ambitions of European qualification will be aiming to bounce back from respective defeats this weekend as Montpellier HSC welcome Lens to the Stade de la Mosson.

The hosts were thrashed 4-0 by Paris Saint-Germain last Friday as their abysmal run continued, while Lens suffered an unexpected defeat to Nice in their most recent outing.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-2 Lens

Only bottom two sides Nimes (41) and Lorient (40) have shipped more goals than Montpellier (39) so far - a statistic which bodes well for Gael Kakuta and co this weekend. The hosts will continue to struggle for goals at the correct end of the pitch in the absence of Delort, and even though Lens still have problems of their own to iron out, we are backing the visitors to take the spoils and pile more misery on Der Zakarian.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Marseille vs. Rennes (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Fifth meets sixth in Ligue 1 this weekend as European hopefuls Rennes and Marseille lock horns at the Orange Velodrome on Saturday evening.

Both sides are aiming to bounce back from defeats last time out, with Marseille being put to the sword by Monaco, while Rennes lost narrowly to Lille.

We say: Marseille 1-2 Rennes

Milik should add another attacking dimension to a Marseille side who are in desperate need of it, but Villas-Boas has numerous problems to address at the other end of the pitch as well. Rennes were not blown away by Lille by any stretch, and while a trip to Marseille is never a straightforward game no matter how well Les Olympiens are playing, Stephan's men should do enough to eke out a crucial win.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.
