Report: Manchester United to up Leighton Baines offer to £16m

Manchester United will offer Everton £16m for Leighton Baines in January, according to a report.

Manchester United have been linked with another bid for Everton full-back Leighton Baines.

The Premier League champions saw two approaches rejected during the summer transfer window, with the Toffees describing their offers as "derisory".

However, The Mirror claim that David Moyes will return in January with a bid of £16m for the player he signed from Wigan Athletic while in charge at Goodison Park.

Baines has cemented himself as one of Europe's leading left-backs in recent seasons, which sees him now challenging Ashley Cole for the position in England's team for next summer's World Cup.
