Zlatan Ibrahimovic urges Wayne Rooney to join him at Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic calls on Wayne Rooney to leave Manchester United to join him at the French club.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that Wayne Rooney should leave Manchester United in the January transfer window and move to the Parc des Princes.

The England international was linked to the Ligue 1 outfit during the summer, when it was reported that the 27-year-old was ready to call time on his career at Old Trafford.

Despite two bids from Premier League rivals Chelsea, Rooney has opted to stay with the English champions until the winter window at least.

"When there was talk of Rooney joining us in Paris it was a prospect that excited me," ESPN quotes Ibrahimovic as saying. "I think he made it clear in the summer that he wanted a fresh challenge, and things have not been going so well for Manchester United this season.

"If he still wants to move next summer, or in January, I would urge him to come and play with me in Paris. The only direction this club is going is up."

Reports over the last few months have claimed that Rooney could be offered a new deal at United.
