Marouane Fellaini ready to fight for Manchester United future

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini reveals that he is ready to fight for his place at the club under new manager Louis van Gaal.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has admitted that he wants to fight for his place at the club next season.

The 26-year-old struggled for form following his £27.5m move from Everton last season and even fell out of the starting lineup towards the end of the campaign.

However, despite reports stating that he could be surplus to requirements under new boss Louis van Gaal, the Belgium international is ready to make his claim to stay at Old Trafford.

Fellaini is quoted as saying by The Mirror: "I want to meet Van Gaal and look him straight in the eye.

"I am not playing at this World Cup for a transfer. I feel good at Manchester United. I have to admit that this season was one which I want to forget as quickly as possible. But I am still the same Marouane."

Fellaini scored in Belgium's 2-1 win over Algeria in their first match at the World Cup.
