Marouane Fellaini: 'I want to prove myself at Manchester United'

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini admits that he wants to move on from his difficult first season with the club and focus on next term.

Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has said that he wants to put his poor debut season with the club behind him and focus on next term.

The Belgian, who has started in just 12 league games this campaign, has suffered from injuries and a lack of form in his first season with United.

"I will look to show what I can do next season. When this season finishes I will start with my preparation for the next year and it will be good," Fellaini told The Telegraph.

"I need to be fit to be good. Even when I am injured I can play but the fitness is not the same. I was injured for three months and that was a difficult moment for me.

"When you arrive in a new team you want to play, you want to stay with the team and when you can't play it is difficult to see the team – even off the pitch."

Fellaini, 26, made the £27.5m move to Old Trafford from Everton on the final day of last summer's transfer window.
