Jose Mourinho has admitted that he was hoping for more midfield penetration from Paul Pogba in Manchester United's goalless draw with Liverpool on Monday.
The Frenchman failed to make any real attacking impact on the game at Anfield, producing his only moment of quality early in the second half to set up a big chance for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Mourinho was happy with his side's overall display to claim a point at the home of their great rivals, but believes that his world-record signing perhaps could have done more to create openings in what proved to be a tame stalemate.
"Had it been 1-0, it would have been finished," Mourinho told Sky Sports News. "Where Pogba was playing, I was expecting more penetration.
"Defensively we did really well, we should have had a little bit more. We had a big chance that I thought Zlatan was going to score."
United recorded just 35% possession against Liverpool - the lowest registered by the Red Devils in over a decade.
