Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius: 'We are not scared of Manchester United'

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius insists that he and his teammates are "not scared" of Manchester United ahead of Monday's showdown.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has claimed that he and his teammates are "not scared" of arch rivals Manchester United ahead of Monday night's Premier League clash at Anfield.

The two North-West clubs have one of the fiercest rivalries in English football and they are preparing to face one another for the first time this season.

Jurgen Klopp's men are three points above United in fourth place having won five of their seven games of the campaign so far.

As for Jose Mourinho's side, they are unbeaten in their last two, but were restricted to a 1-1 draw with Stoke City in their last outing before the international break.

"It will be a big game," Karius told Premier League Productions. "I think it will be a close game. Man Utd has a good, strong team but we have a great team and we play at home. We have respect for them but we're not scared of them and we know we want to win the game.

"We'll have a good plan - or more than one plan - so we will be well prepared. Monday night at Anfield, the fans will be behind us, so I think everyone's looking forward to it."

Wayne Rooney scored a late winner to seal victory over Liverpool in their last league clash at Anfield.
