Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini claims that he has 100% trust in his players ahead of their season-defining game with Queens Park Rangers.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has backed his team to claim the Premier League title, insisting "I trust my players 100%".

The Citizens top the table from Manchester United by eight goals and know that a victory at home to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday will seal their first English championship in 44 years.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he is hoping for Mancini's men to do something "stupid" and drop points.

However, the Italian has complete faith in his players' capability to claim the vital win.

"I trust my players 100%," said Mancini. "They know they have everything in their hands.

"They have worked hard and fought in every game all season. Now they have this big chance.

"In the last two games against Manchester United and Newcastle they have been strong and had a good mentality and I think it will be the same again on Sunday."

If City fail to beat QPR, United will be crowned champions of England for a record-breaking 20th time if they record a better result at Sunderland.
