Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester City continue their pursuit of Premier League leaders Liverpool with a game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Etihad on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's men have responded in perfect fashion to a shock 3-2 defeat at the hands of Norwich City last month, scoring 19 goals over the following five games.

Indeed, City's last Premier League game at home saw the reigning champions romp to an 8-0 victory over Watford, and many will be expecting a scoreline of similar proportions against a Wolves team which has struggled for momentum so far this term.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's fixture.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 6 (vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers)

Guardiola noted ahead of City's 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb that De Bruyne, a player often impeded by groin problems, had aggravated the area and would not be risked against the Croatian side. The Catalan insisted that the injury was not serious, however, and suggested that De Bruyne could return in time for Sunday.

Leroy Sane

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Sidelined with knee ligament damage in August, the German is said to be making impressive progress in his rehabilitation but will not return to action until 2020.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Much like his teammate, Laporte finds himself facing a long road to recovery after also suffering knee ligament damage at the very start of the season. There remains no timescale regarding when he could return to the pitch.

John Stones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 19 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Stones suffered a muscular injury just after fellow defender Laporte had undergone surgery, creating a feeling of crisis at the Etihad. However, the 25-year-old is expected to make a return to action following the upcoming international break.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no players suspended ahead of this match.
