Yaya Toure: 'Barcelona fear Manchester City'

Barcelona fear the prospect of facing Man City in the last 16 of the Champions League, claims Yaya Toure.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has claimed a member of the Barcelona squad has personally told him that the Catalans are not looking forward to facing the Sky Blues in the last 16 of the Champions League next year.

The Premier League outfit have registered more than 80 goals in all competitions this season under manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Cote d'Ivorie international, who enjoyed a three-year spell in Catalunya, says that a former teammate at Camp Nou claims to be fearing the two-legged encounter with City.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "After the draw I had a call from one of my old team-mates from Spain who was quite disappointed.

"He wasn't sure what would happen. In the past they would be confident they would go through and beat anyone but they are afraid about us.

"The way we are playing at home and they are seeing that means they are quite scared because we play fantastic football, we score goals and it is total attack. So its going to be a tough game for them."

Toure, who won the competition with the Blaugrana under then-coach Pep Guardiola in 2009, will face his ex-club at Eastlands on February 18, before travelling to Catalunya with the Citizens three weeks later.
