Sergio Aguero keen to avoid Barcelona, Bayern Munich

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero hopes that his team can avoid both Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has said that he is hoping his team will avoid Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, should the pair make it through.

Man City booked their spot in the final eight courtesy of a 3-1 aggregate win over Dynamo Kiev, while Barca and Bayern are the favourites to overcome Arsenal and Juventus respectively in their second legs on Wednesday.

Aguero has accepted that at some point the Premier League club will have to face one of the favourites, but is keen to avoid Barca and Bayern when the quarter-final draw is made next week.

"You always want to go far, and to do that you have to face the best," Aguero told reporters. "Obviously Barca and Bayern are there, who are the two best by form, and obviously if we can avoid them all the better, but at some point we will have to face them."

Man City will be in the draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history.
