Liverpool 'leading race for Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Lunin'

Liverpool reportedly emerge as frontrunners to sign 19-year-old Ukraine international goalkeeper Andriy Lunin from Zorya Luhansk.

Liverpool are reportedly in pole position to sign 19-year-old Ukraine international goalkeeper Andriy Lunin this summer.

The youngster has impressed since joining Zorya Luhansk from Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk last year, helping his new club to secure Europa League qualification for next season.

Lunin's form has seen him called up to the Ukraine national team, earning his first cap for his country in a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia in March.

Premier League clubs Leicester City and Watford are also understood to be tracking the 6'3" shot-stopper, but The Mirror reports that Liverpool are leading the race for his signature.

Lunin would likely arrive at Anfield as their number three goalkeeper behind Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet, although the Reds have also been linked with a move for the likes of Alisson Becker in that position this summer.

Zorya turned down a bid from Spanish outfit Real Sociedad for Lunin in January, while Inter Milan have also been credited with an interest in the promising keeper.
