Real Betis are allegedly the frontrunners to sign defender Yerry Mina from Barcelona.

Real Betis are allegedly the frontrunners to sign defender Yerry Mina from Barcelona.

Mina, who signed for the Catalan club in January from Palmeiras, is expected to leave Camp Nou on loan next season with a number of clubs interested in his services.

The report from Spanish source Sport adds that Liverpool want to bring the Colombian international to Anfield, but will be beaten to the signing by the La Liga side.

Betis sporting vice president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer is said to have a good relationship with Barcelona general manager Pep Segura, which is expected to help the transfer progress.

Barcelona are reportedly close to signing Gremio midfielder Arthur, which will allow Mina to leave the club due to restrictions on the number of non-European Union players in the squad.
