Leonardo Bonucci insists that Juventus showed their fighting spirit in coming from a goal down to earn a point against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

Leonardo Bonucci has praised the fighting qualities of his Juventus side after they came from behind to take a point against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

A well-taken goal from Bonucci levelled the match at 1-1 after Alex Teixeira opened the scoring in the first Champions League match at the Juventus Stadium.

Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia that he believes his side recovered well after a poor start to the match.

He said: "We went on to the pitch a little too timid. However, considering how the game was going, we did well to get back in it.

"When we attacked Shakhtar, we put them under a lot of pressure. Juventus must always seek to take the game to the opponents."

The 25-year-old defender has been at the heart of a Juve defence that is currently enjoying a 45-match unbeaten run in Serie A.
