Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner relishing clash against Middlesbrough

Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner admits that he has told his players to approach their Championship match against Middlesbrough with no fear at John Smith's Stadium.

Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner has revealed that he is relishing his side's Championship clash against Middlesbrough.

Wagner has yet to record a victory in his two games in charge of the Terriers since replacing Chris Powell, although his side did hold a 1-0 lead against Sheffield Wednesday last time out before the Owls launched a late comeback to claim the three points at Hillsborough.

The German has admitted that he was pleased with his side's display against Wednesday and has told his players not to fear high-flying Boro ahead of their match at John Smith's Stadium.

He told the club's official website: "I am excited about this game because I have a lot of trust that my team will show again what it did against Sheffield and make another step forward. I'm very happy to have the next game and hopefully, at the end, we will have the right result as we've won this game.

"For me, it is not interesting who is the favourite and who is the underdog. This is a game against a very good team but when the whistle starts the game, we will try to win.

"Thinking about this game negatively before it even begins would be completely the wrong idea. I know we have enough quality to keep this game open. There will be some key points and if they go in our direction, we will be able to win this game."

Huddersfield sit in 21st place in the Championship after 17 matches this season.
