Mickael Landreau frustrated by France defeat

Veteran France goalkeeper Mickael Landreau expresses his frustration following the team's 1-0 defeat to Germany in the World Cup quarter-finals.

France goalkeeper Mickael Landreau has expressed his frustration following the team's World Cup quarter-final loss to Germany.

Les Bleus were knocked out of the tournament on Friday with a narrow 1-0 defeat in Rio de Janeiro.

While admitting that his side's exit is hard to take, Landreau believes that the result should be put into perspective due to the youthful nature of the France squad.

"It's never easy to end this way," the 35-year-old shot-stopper told FIFA.com. "It was a strange afternoon.

"It was tough, frustrating, and obviously I'm never going to forget it. We had our moments during the game, but we're still a very young team."

Germany play hosts Brazil on Tuesday for a place in next weekend's final.
