Juan Mata feels that Chelsea will have had an "amazing season" if they win the Europa League tonight.

Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata feels that winning the Europa League tonight would mean that the club will have enjoyed an "amazing season".

The Blues play Portuguese side Benfica at the Amsterdam ArenA in the showpiece final, and the Spanish schemer thinks that a European trophy sitting alongside qualification for next season's Champions League will equate to a successful campaign.

"If we win the Europa League, it will be an amazing season," Mata told Sky Sports News.

"It is so difficult to have the quality to finish in the Champions League places and to do so will be great for next season. So if we win a European title as well then we must say it has been an amazing season."

Mata is Chelsea's top scorer this season alongside compatriot Fernando Torres, with the duo claiming 19 goals each in the Premier League.
