Ashley Cole misses Schalke 04 trip

Chelsea opt not to risk Ashley Cole during tomorrow's Champions League encounter against Schalke 04.

Chelsea will be without Ashley Cole for tomorrow's Champions League clash against Schalke 04.

The full-back has spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines with a rib injury that he suffered against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

He took part in a training session with his teammates at Cobham earlier today, though, and it had been expected that he would make the trip to Germany.

However, the England international was not present as the Chelsea team boarded the plane for Dusseldorf.

The Blues go into the clash having collected three points from their first two group matches.
