Burnley registered their first win of the Premier League season at the 11th time of asking by beating Hull City 1-0 at Turf Moor this afternoon.
Ashley Barnes struck the only goal of the game on 51 minutes as the Clarets finally found the breakthrough after dominating the first half.
Steve Bruce's side were reduced to 10 men later on in the half after Curtis Davies went off injured, with the Tigers boss having already used all three substitutes.

BURNLEY
Goal
Tom Heaton: Little more than a spectator by virtue of Hull's lack of creative spark and had just one shot to save in the entire game. (6/10)
Defence
Kieran Trippier: Grabbed his first assist of the season after picking 15 in the Championship last term. Fortunate to get away with a loose pass in the first half, however. (6/10)
Michael Duff: The veteran was solid all afternoon and managed several last-ditch headers to keep Hull at bay. Excellent with Shackell. (7/10)
Jason Shackell: The Burnley skipper was a rock in defence this afternoon, producing a number of crucial blocks to earn a well-deserved clean sheet. (7/10)
Stephen Ward: Found himself untested in a quiet first half, and did very well to keep the tricky Hatem Ben Arfa quiet after the Frenchman came on. (6/10)
Midfield
George Boyd: Too determined to prove a point against his former club and ended up taking on shots from outrageous distances to get on the scoresheet. Dangerous on the left-wing overall, though. (5/10)
Dean Marney: Did well against his former club and, unlike Boyd, did not approach the game looking to prove a point. Good performance in midfield. (6/10)
David Jones: Impressive in Burnley's midfield and did well to stifle Hull's flair players on a number of occasions. (6/10)
Scott Arfield: Almost had a first-minute assist but Danny Ings missed a good goalscoring chance. Largely anonymous after that and then found himself subbed early in the second half. (5/10)
Attack
Ashley Barnes: Scored the key goal that led to Burnley's first win of the Premier League season. Quiet overall, but it is difficult to quantify how important that goal can be. (7/10)
Danny Ings: Spurned some good chances in the first half - including one as early as the first minute - and never got going in the second half. (5/10)
Substitutes
Michael Kightly: Replaced Arfield on 55 minutes and might have staked his claim for future spots in the starting XI. (6/10)
Lukas Jutkiewicz: Gave away a silly foul in the dying stages that jeopardised Burnley's win, but it was unpunished. (4/10)
HULL CITY
Goal
Steve Harper: Produced one good save to keep out Ings in the first half, but it was evident that the veteran goalkeeper had not played for a few weeks after one or two hairy moments. (4/10)
Defence
Paul McShane: Nearly scored an own goal but also was one of the few players to threaten Burnley's net with a first-half header that sailed over. (5/10)
Curtis Davies: Went off injured to leave Hull with 10 men. Not his finest game overall. (4/10)
James Chester: Would have been at fault had Ings converted that early chance, and also lost Barnes for the winning goal. (4/10)
Ahmed Elmohamady: Did not venture too far forward and allowed Ashley Barnes to nip in behind him to open the scoring on 50 minutes. (4/10)
Midfield
Tom Huddlestone: Disappointing afternoon for the big midfielder, who found himself substituted after the opening goal after a largely ineffective impact. (4/10)
Jake Livermore: Continues to disappoint after Hull broke their transfer record on him in the summer. Did nowhere near enough today. (3/10)
Mohammed Diame: Hull's leading goalscorer this season was far from his best today and a better showing from him might have improved his side's chances of salvaging something. (4/10)
Robbie Brady: Cleared off the line to spare the blushes of Paul McShane, but Abel Hernandez and co. could have done with his delivery in the final third. Never really got going. (5/10)
Attack
Sone Aluko: Did very little to justify Steve Bruce's decision to start him; playing off Abel Hernandez but could not create anything for the Uruguayan. Subbed after the opener. (4/10)
Abel Hernandez: Hull's biggest attacking threat and flashed a shot just wide of Tom Heaton's post in the second half, but lacked the service to produce moments like this regularly. (5/10)
Substitutes
Stephen Quinn: Fortunate not to be sent off in his cameo after diving in two-footed on Michael Kightly. But he flashed one or two good balls across the Burnley goal at times. (5/10)
Hatem Ben Arfa: Never got into the game against a stubborn left-back showing from Stephen Ward. (3/10)
