Brighton & Hove Albion lodge an appeal to have Davy Propper's red card against Huddersfield Town overturned.

Brighton & Hove Albion have launched an appeal against the red card shown to Davy Propper during their 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town at the weekend.

The Dutch midfielder was given his marching orders following a 50-50 challenge with Jonathan Hogg and faces a three-match ban as a result of referee Anthony Taylor's decision.

According to The Argus, the club have contacted the Premier League in an attempt to have Propper's suspension overturned.

If the league uphold's Taylor's decision, the Dutchman will miss Brighton's games against Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton sprung to Propper's defence after the game, dubbing the sending-off "harsh", while his Huddersfield counterpart David Wagner backed the red card.
