Birmingham City reportedly part company with manager Steve Cotterill following a run of six wins from 24 since being appointed.

Steve Cotterill has been sacked as manager of Birmingham City following a five-game losing run in the Championship, according to a report.

Blues chiefs are said to be on the lookout for a fifth manager in 16 months after growing restless with the club's form under Cotterill.

The 53-year-old was appointed as Harry Redknapp's successor in September, winning six of his 24 league games at the helm.

BBC Sport suggests that Cotterill lost his job on Saturday evening, soon after Birmingham went down 2-1 to Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest, leaving them two points adrift of safety.

Garry Monk, sacked by Middlesbrough just before Christmas, is the bookies' early favourite to take charge at St Andrew's.
