Arjen Robben says that he was "delighted" to get a 45-minute run-out for the Netherlands in midweek.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has aimed a shot at Jupp Heynckes following his second-half appearance for the Netherlands on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old has had to settle for a place on the bench in recent weeks, and had made just four league starts all season.

Robben came on as a sub during his country's 1-1 draw with Italy in Amsterdam, and said that he was "delighted" to have some game time.

"I appreciate the coach (Louis van Gaal) played me," said Robben. "Right now it is all too little. I get near to no playing time at my club, an unsatisfying situation.

"That's why I was very delighted to be allowed 45 minutes. It was a delightful, Dutch evening for me.

"It gives you a good feeling when there is a coach who puts his trust in you. This coach has always supported me."

Bayern face Schalke at the Allianz Arena this evening.
