Jupp Heynckes is overjoyed with Bayern Munich's 3-1 victory over Mainz at the Allianz Arena in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes was delighted with his side's 3-1 home victory over Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Goals from Mario Mandzukic, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos saw the Bavarian giants pick up maximum points at the Allianz Arena.

"We produced an excellent half hour of football," said Heynckes. "The goals were truly outstanding.

"The 3-1 victory was well deserved, especially after Javi Martinez came on, although we were too passive in the 15 minutes before the break.

"We played well going forward and were very intelligent in our overall play nonetheless."

Bayern are currently at the top of Bundesliga table with nine points from three matches.
