Franz Beckenbauer frustrated by "black night" for Bayern Munich

Franz Beckenbauer admits that it was a "black night" for Bayern Munich as they slipped to a 3-1 loss to Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer has claimed that there were no positives to take from the 3-1 defeat to Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

A brace from Ricardo Quaresma and a second-half strike from Jackson Martinez secured a potentially vital win for Porto, and Beckenbauer refused to hold back with his criticism of Bayern, who scored an away goal through Thiago Alcantara.

"I have not seen a single Bayern player who showed his normal form. It was a black night. Sometimes this happens and it happened tonight," he told Sky.

"When you have a keeper playing badly or a defender playing badly that is not unusual. But in this match they all worked together to achieve this result."

The second leg takes place at the Allianz Arena next Tuesday.
