Cristian Rodriguez hails "great victory"

Atletico Madrid midfielder Cristian Rodriguez praises his side's 2-1 win over his former club Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Cristian Rodriguez has praised his side's "really great victory" over Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Spanish outfit, who recovered from a goal down to win 2-1 in Portugal, ended Porto's five-year unbeaten run at the Estadio do Dragao.

"Without doubt, winning at Porto is a really great victory. They are a great team and they have won a lot of titles. I am really pleased with the work of all my teammates. It is a very happy night," Rodriguez told reporters at a press conference.

"In the first half it was tough as Porto pressed us hard. In the second half it was a lot better. It is true that this will always be a second home for me.

"I was here for four years and lucky enough to experience some great moments, winning a lot of titles. I still have a lot of friends here."

Rodriguez spent four years with Porto from 2008 to 2012.
