Everton manager Ronald Koeman claims that the club have yet to receive an offer for midfielder Ross Barkley.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has claimed that the club have not yet received any bids for wantaway midfielder Ross Barkley.

The 23-year-old is now into the final 12 months of his current contract at Goodison Park and has rejected the offer of a new deal amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Toffees have put the England international on the market with a reported price tag of £50m and, following a lack of concrete interest so far, Koeman has conceded that Barkley could feature for his side this season.

"He is back in training, and that is good news for him and for us, and he has been participating in the last two training sessions," he told reporters this afternoon. "There is no offer on the table for us and that means he will stay at Everton. What happens in the next few weeks I don't know.

"He has a one-year contract, he is a really good player and if someone likes to buy him it would be a big deal. I expect to have offers on the table, he made a decision to not sign the contract but if there is no interest he will stay and could be part of the team.

"I respect every ambition of every player, he is still training at Everton, training in a good way, and we will see what will happen."

Everton begin the new Premier League season at home to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
