Arsenal are reportedly willing to fork out a whopping €110m (£94m) to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer.

Arsenal are reportedly willing to fork out a whopping €110m (£94m) to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer.

The France international burst onto the scene at Ligue 1 club Rennes before moving to the Santiago Bernabeu for a reported €31m in the summer of 2021.

At the age of just 21, Camavinga has already made a total of 132 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions, chipping in with two goals and six assists.

The defensive midfielder, who has also operated at left-back, has been a first-team regular under Carlo Ancelotti this season, starting 24 times including 16 in La Liga.

However, Camavinga has had to regularly battle with the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric for a place in midfield.

Arsenal plotting big-money move for Camavinga?

Camavinga extended his contract with Real Madrid in November last year, putting pen to paper on a new-and-improved deal that runs until June 2029.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is said to believe that Camavinga will soon develop into one of the best midfielder's in world football and has no intention of parting ways with the Frenchman.

However, Spanish news outlet Defensa Central claims that Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit of the versatile midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report adds that the Gunners are willing to pay up to €110m (£94m) to sign Camavinga and manager Mikel Arteta is keen to lure the youngster to the Emirates Stadium.

It is also claimed that Arsenal will be 'optimistic' of striking a deal for Camavinga if he does not feature in Ancelotti's first-team plans during Real Madrid's Champions League campaign in the knockout rounds.

Do Arsenal need to sign Camavinga?

Camavinga's versatility and development into a promising player at such a young age, as well as his immense potential, is sure to appeal to a lot of top Europeans clubs, including Arsenal.

The Gunners are expected to splash the cash in the summer transfer window, with attacking reinforcements believed to be high on the club's agenda.

However, the addition of one or two midfielders may also be considered amid uncertainty over the futures of players including Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny.

Partey, who has been prone to injury, has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in recent months having lost his regular starting place, while Elneny is out of contract at the end of the season.
