Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny plays 90 minutes for the Under-21s as they lose 3-2 against Liverpool at Anfield.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny played 90 minutes for the club's Under-21 side last night, but could not prevent them losing 3-2 to Liverpool at Anfield.

Szczesny conceded after 34 minutes as Liverpool took the lead thanks to a composed finish from Adam Morgan.

The Gunners quickly equalised through Chuba Akpom, but Krisztian Adorjan had the home side back ahead early the second half.

A fine strike from Serge Gnabry levelled the match three minutes later, with an end-to-end clash eventually decided by Morgan's second from close range late on.

Szczesny has not made a first-team appearance for Arsenal since last month, with Lukasz Fabianski preferred in their last four matches.

An exciting clash at Anfield also marked the first Arsenal appearance for 16-year-old Gedion Zelalem, with the German youth international completing 90 minutes.
