Arsenal's Olivier Giroud: 'Southampton deserved draw against us'

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud insists that Southampton "deserved" to take a point from last night's clash against the Gunners.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has described Southampton as one of the "best teams" that he has faced in the Premier League this season.

The Gunners were held to a 2-2 draw at St Mary's last night, despite Giroud and Santi Cazorla finding the back of the net in the second half.

"Southampton are one of the best teams we have played, they deserved the draw," Giroud told the club's official website. "We have to come back on Sunday now - we have the opportunity to play at home so we have to look forward to that. The championship is not finished and we have to keep our heads up. It's not the end of the world."

Manchester City can overtake Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table if they defeat Totteham Hotspur in tonight's clash at White Hart Lane.
