Kevin Anderson has moved into the third round of Wimbledon after beating Marsel Ilhan this evening.
Despite being ranked some 68 places above his Turkish counterpart, the towering South African and 14th seed lost the first set 7-6, after being pipped 7-5 in the tie-break.
The second set followed the same pattern as nothing could separate the duo with six games apiece once more, but this time Anderson won 8-6 in sudden death to level up the match.
It was just the pick-me-up that Anderson needed, as he moved into a 5-4 lead in the third set with what was the first break of serve of the match - not including the tie-breaks - before holding his own to win 6-4 and move one set away from a place in the next round.
Another crucial break of serve followed in the third game of the fourth set as the 6'8" player moved 2-1 ahead.
Having failed to lose serve even once in the entire match at that point, Anderson maintained his stellar service game by winning 6-4 to advance into the third round.
