Sabine Lisicki has claimed that she never stopped believing that she could beat Samantha Stosur following her victory in the third round of Wimbledon.

The German 23rd seed lost the opening set 4-6 against the former US Open champion before fighting back to close out the match 6-2 6-1.

"This is my favourite court in the world," Lisicki told BBC Sport. "Sam played a great match but the crowd was super.

"I fought for everything, I went for my shots and still believed the entire match that I could win."

Lisicki will face either defending champion Serena Williams or Japanese veteran Kimiko Date-Krumm in the next round.
