Goran Ivanisevic: 'British players can still do better'

Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic believes that the British players still need to perform better at their home Grand Slam.

Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic has insisted that British players still need to improve their performances at their home Grand Slam.

Four British men have reached the second round at SW19 for the first time since 2006, while Heather Watson saved match points to progress in the women's draw, beating a seeded player for the first time at the tournament.

The 2001 winner told BBC Sport: "You are happy that five guys are in the second round, maybe one is going to the final.

"With the amount of money I think there should be more guys in the third and fourth round. It's getting better, but still it could do better."

Ivanisevic was ranked 125th in the world when he won Wimbledon as a wildcard.
