The opener went the way of serve until the tiebreak, when Raonic capitalised and edged out his opponent.

Both players lost serve on a couple of occasions in the second, but once more the favourite prevailed to take the set in a tense tiebreak.

Raonic completed the straight-sets win by taking the third in a similar fashion as Burgos bowed out at Flushing Meadows.
