Johanna Konta believes that the key to qualifying for the US Open was keeping herself "in the present".
With victory over Tamira Paszek, Konta has taken her current winning streak to 13 games, but the British number two has insisted that she couldn't afford to get ahead of herself during her 6-4 3-6 6-2 triumph.
The 24-year-old told BBC Sport: "I've been keeping myself in the present so I haven't been counting the wins.
"I'm still here. I've just qualified for the US Open and I'm going to enjoy this for what it is. We work hard for these moments."
Konta, who will be making her second appearance at Flushing Meadows, will play American wildcard Louisa Chirico in the first round.
