Feliciano Lopez is through to the Barcelona Open quarter-finals after a 6-3 6-1 win over Jarkko Nieminen.
The Finn previously had an excellent record over Lopez, having beaten him on five of their six professional meetings.
However, this match was to go differently as the Spaniard secured a straight-sets win on his way to the tournament's last eight.
Lopez served particularly well on his way to taking the first set 6-3, holding comfortably throughout and breaking Nieminen twice.
It was an even more convincing tale in the second set as Lopez cruised to a 6-1 victory, wrapping up the match in an hour and a quarter to set up a potential quarter-final against Spanish compatriot Fernando Verdasco.
