Tomas Berdych has moved into round three of the Paris Masters after recording a victory over Spaniard Fernando Verdasco this morning.
The current world number seven won the opening two sets 6-3 7-5 to secure the win in one hour and and 46 minutes in the French capital.
Berdych will now face Janko Tipsarevic in the next round of a tournament that he managed to win in 2005.
Victory over the Serbian will cement his place at the ATP Tour Finals in London later this month.
