Marcus Willis to make first appearance since Wimbledon

British number 12 Marcus Willis plays in Vienna on Saturday as he makes his first appearance since making the second round of Wimbledon.

Marcus Willis will make his first appearance since Wimbledon this weekend as he attempts to qualify for the Erst Bank Open in Vienna.

Earlier this year, Willis - now the British number 12 - made the headlines after he came through six qualifying matches to make the main draw at SW19 before victory over Ricardis Berankis earned him a Centre Court showdown with Roger Federer.

Willis succumbed in straight sets to the seven-time champion but rather than rejoin the Challenger Tour, he has taken three months out before trying to make his way up the world rankings.

He has been handed an opportunity to compete at the Tie Break Tens tournament in Austria alongside Andy Murray, but first, he is hoping to come through two qualifying matches to reach the first round of the Erst Bank Open.

Willis will face Moldova's Radu Albot on Saturday afternoon.
