France's Paul-Henri Mathieu has reached the third round of the French Open after a mammoth five-set victory over American John Isner.
After losing the first set in a tie-break, Mathieu then took the next two 6-4 6-4 to put himself ahead.
A 6-3 triumph for Isner in the fourth saw the match go the distance before the two men played out a draining final set.
As neither competitor refused to drop a service game, the score went to 16-16.
Mathieu then held serve before a decisive break against Isner handed the world number 275 the win.
