James Hook, Gareth Anscombe called up to Wales squad

Wales confirm that Scott Williams and Hallam Amos will play no further part in the Rugby World Cup, with James Hook and Gareth Anscombe taking their place in the squad.

Wales have called up James Hook and Gareth Anscombe to their Rugby World Cup squad as a result of mounting injury problems.

Scott Williams and Hallam Amos became the latest players to drop out after picking up knee and shoulder injuries respectively in the historic win over England.

Both players have now officially been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament, with the Red Dragons acting quickly to bring in Hook and Anscombe - each of whom featured in the recent warm-up Tests.

Anscombe only made his international debut during those pre-tournament fixtures, while Hook boasts more experience with 78 caps to his name.

Meanwhile, Liam Williams has been ruled out of Thursday's Pool A meeting against Fiji due to concussion sustained in the Twickenham triumph.
