Result: London Irish 46-29 Newcastle Falcons

London Irish beat winless Newcastle Falcons at the Madejski Stadium.

London Irish have picked up their second win of their Aviva Premiership campaign, beating Newcastle Falcons at the Madejski Stadium.

Falcons fly-half Jimmy Gopperth and Exiles fullback Tom Homer exchanged four first-half penalties, as Topsy Ojo's try proved the only difference between the two teams at the half.

The pair began the second half by again scoring a penalty each, before Homer added a second and then converted Jonathan Joseph's try on the hour mark to pull away. Homer then converted both a penalty try and a second from Joseph.

Newcastle's Daz Fearn and Jamie Helleur's tries proved too little, too late and extends the visitors' winless run to four games.
