Robbie Deans says that Australia are confident heading into tomorrow's deciding Test of the British and Irish Lions tour.

Australia coach Robbie Deans has said that a good start will be key to his team ensuring victory over the British and Irish Lions in the deciding Test in Sydney.

The series is locked at 1-1 after the first two matches in Brisbane and Melbourne, although neither coach has said that they are completely satisfied with the way their team is playing.

Despite admitting that there is much room for improvement, Deans said that the Wallabies are in confident mood.

"We're very confident," Deans told reporters.

"We can honestly say we haven't played our best footy throughout the series thus far and probably made too many errors to give ourselves an opportunity to play any sort of fast, flowing rugby.

"We were able to do that in the last 20-30 minutes in the Test in Melbourne and the thing is we will take a lot of confidence out of that moving forward and we have to make sure that we start well."

The final Test takes place tomorrow morning.
