Catalans Dragons record a 42-34 victory over the Widnes Vikings on Sunday.

Catalans Dragons recorded a 42-34 victory over the Widnes Vikings in a pulsating encounter on Sunday.

It was the away side who stormed into an early lead courtesy of tries from Clint Greenshields, Leon Pryce, Vincent Duport and a goal from Scott Dureau.

The first half comeback for Widnes was started by Stefan Marsh, before Rhys Hanbury bagged three goals and a try of his own late in the half.

Widnes moved ahead courtesy of a Chris Dean try after 42 minutes, but the away side took control of the encounter as the second period developed.

Dureau took his number of goals to five, while tries from Louis Anderson, Mathias Pala and Thomas Bosc moved Catalans into the lead.

Patrick Ah Van gave hope to Widnes late on, but a Dureau try on the final whistle secured the victory.
