Catalan Dragons 27-20 Huddersfield Giants

Huddersfield Giants pass up the chance to return to the top of Super League by losing to Catalan Dragons.

Huddersfield Giants passed up the opportunity to return to the top of Super League by slipping to a 27-20 defeat at Huddersfield Giants.

Damien Cardace opened the scoring for the hosting Dragons when he went over for the game's first try.

The Giants responded with tries from Luke Robinson and Dale Ferguson, only for the Dragons to regain the advantage before the break as Clint Greenshields and Leon Pryce touched down.

Scott Grix reduced the deficit for the Giants shortly after the restart when he ran in a try.

However, further tries for the home side from Remi Casty and Vincent Duport sealed the points for the Dragons in the closing stages.

There was still time for Joe Wardle to score a late try for the away side, although it proved to be a mere consolation effort.
