Warrington Wolves beat Castleford Tigers to book semi-final place

Warrington move into the Super League semi-finals for the fourth straight season after beating Castleford 30-14 at The Jungle.

Warrington Wolves have progressed into the last-four stage of the Super League after beating Castleford Tigers 30-14 in their preliminary semi-final at The Jungle tonight.

Wolves ran in five tries in total to reach the semis for the fourth successive year.

Tony Smith's side boasted a 10-4 half-time lead after Ryan Atkins and Joel Monaghan touched down for the visitors, with Jamie Ellis crossing for the hosts.

Luke Dorn kept hopes alive by going over on 57 minutes, before Marc Sneyd added the extras to reduce the gap to two points following a Stefan Ratchford penalty.

However, a 10-minute blitz from Warrington all but sealed the win, as Gareth O'Brien and Rhys Evans added further tries, while Monaghan bagged his second.

Michael Shenton crossed over late on for the Tigers, but it was nothing more than a consolation as Wolves secured the win by a 16-point margin.
