Brian Noble lined up for Bradford Bulls return

Sacked coach Mick Potter claims that former Bradford Bulls favourite Brian Noble is being lined up for a return to Odsal by administrator Brendan Guilfoyle.

Former Bradford Bulls coach Brian Noble is being lined up for a return to Odsal, according to sacked boss Mick Potter.

Potter, along with 15 other members of staff, was made redundant yesterday as part of a dramatic cost-cutting exercise by administrator Brendan Guilfoyle.

The Australian, who rejected the opportunity to remain in his role in an unpaid capacity, says that Noble is likely to take charge of the Bulls for Sunday's home game against London Broncos.

He also claims that Noble offered assistant coach Francis Cummins his job back but the former Leeds full-back declined the request.

"There are things going on that aren't what they appear," said Potter. "It's very early in the piece for Brian Noble to come on board, given that they've just sacked all the staff. It's pretty ordinary really.

"But Francis, to his credit, has held onto his honour and I take my hat off to him."

Noble guided the Bulls to five consecutive Grand Finals before leaving to join Wigan Warriors in 2006.
